As a committee during NITK's technical fest Engineer, the Amateur Astronomy club puts up an exhibition consisting of several models and projects related to astronomy and astrophysics. We also organize quizzes, events and workshops.

Astro Committee

Sci-Tutor is a new initiative by AAC where we conduct classes every fortnight for the children attending the NITK English Medium School. Often what is taught in the classroom is presented in a way that limits imagination and fails to ignite interest in the subject. What we plan to do is explain concepts in a creative way and make them more passionate about science.

Sci-Tutor

An event which never fails to attract large crowds, Starry Nights gives NITKans an opportunity to look at the sky through a telescope. This event is often held on full moon nights, when our Parabolic Newtonian Reflector telescope gives us an excellent view of the craters on the moon. Looking at the rings of Saturn, the crescent Venus, and the moons of Jupiter make these nights memorable ones.

Starry Nights

Every year, before the technical fest Engineer, the members of AAC visit schools nearby to conduct engaging workshops on anything related to science or astronomy. This consists of a hands-on session where the kids build a model related to space and astronomy.
